About Me

Welcome!

My name is Katie Haring, and I am currently a Lead Analyst II at Duquesne Light Company. With a Master of Science in Applied Statistics & Analytics and over 10 years of experience working in the analytics, I have developed strong skills in data wrangling, coding, statistical modeling, and data visualization.

I began my career in actuarial roles, but my desire to broaden my analytical horizons led me to explore a wider range of opportunities. This shift allowed me to work with HR and healthcare data, where I developed a passion for statistical modeling. Motivated by this interest, I pursued my Master’s degree in Applied Statistics & Analytics, which I completed in 2020. You can find a full list of the courses I completed on the Education tab. Since joining Duquesne Light Company in 2020, I’ve tackled a wide variety of complex analytical challenges in an internal consultant role. My work includes writing advanced SQL code for data extraction, cleaning, and integration, as well as building predictive and descriptive models using R, Python, and Databricks. I also take pride in mentoring junior analysts and serving as a subject matter expert for statistics and analytics questions across the company. Two of my proudest accomplishments in my current role are building a model that boosted customer engagement by over 200% for a marketing campaign and earning an Employee Excellence Award for my work in 2023.
